The Atkins Group commissioned Arcas for The Pines, a shopping center in Urbana, IL. I started with “The Pines” as a theme and animals that would inhabit them. I recalled the myth of Arcas (Ursa Minor) and made this piece in hopes that visitors might follow the bear’s gaze to Polaris.
